Mountain Bike on the slopes Table Mountain. It has been selected as one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World. This iconic feature in the center of Cape Town offers spectacular trails on the front slopes and along the coastline and pristine indigenous forests of Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
After collecting you from your hotel, your guide will take you to the start of the cycle. After setting up your bike and the safety briefing, the adventure starts.
The cycle starts with a gradual climb into Table Mountain Nature Reserve from Constantia Nek. As soon as you hit the contours, the undulating jeep track takes you towards Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. From here there are a combination of jeep track and single tracks through indigenous forest areas, as well as a steep descent in Newlands Forest. A short cycle takes you to the bottom gate of Rhodes Memorial, where a steep ascent takes you up the side of Devil’s Peak and onto the face of Table Mountain. The jeep track is rocky and some of the ascents steep, but the views make up for the effort.
When you reach the top contour of Tafelberg Road, an easy cycle takes you to the top cable car station and a fast tarmac road takes us to Camps Bay. This is where we will stop for a well-deserved coffee and snack. The rest of the coastal route is tarmac until we head into Hout Bay where a single-track ascent takes us back to the start.
Your guide will load the bikes and drop you off at your hotel.
