Welcome to the Cape, a premier cycling paradise! Our tour winds along smooth roads that hug the ocean’s edge on one side and majestic mountains on the other, offering a unique and unforgettable experience. As we pedal through stunning natural landscapes and renowned wine estates, you’ll discover the perfect blend of scenic beauty, outdoor adventure, and culinary delight. Join us on this exceptional journey to explore the best of our beautiful province, where every turn reveals a new breathtaking vista
Day one starts in the surfing beach of Muizenberg. This coastal route passes through the bustling neighbourhoods of Kalk Bay, Fish Hoek and into Simon’s Town. We visit the Penguins of Boulders Beach here. A steady climb up Smitswinkel takes us to a quick visit to the ostriches at Cape Point Ostrich Farm. The coffee stop is at Scarborough. One of my favourite sections of road is through Misty Cliffs. The view over the ocean is incredible and there always seems to be mist over these cliffs! The last stretch of road is through Masiphumelele, and a short cycle through Fish Hoek takes us back to the start.
Set in the midst of the Cape Winelands is the Second oldest town in South Africa, Stellenbosch. This bustling town offers splendid cycling options. The route we have chosen for day two starts here and heads over Helshoogte pass into the Banhoek Valley. Constant views of the surrounding Hottentots Holland Mountains and wine estates make the journey unforgettable. After cycling through Paarl we stop for a coffee and snack break. Rolling hills tales us past more wine estates back to Stellenbosch
Day three starts in Camps Bay. These popular beaches are packed during summer and is the perfect backdrop for the last day of our adventure. We stick to the coast up Suikerbossie and into Hout Bay. This is where the iconic Chapman’s Peak Drive (Chappies) start. This amazing climb heads into Noordhoek where we will stop for our coffee and snack stop. The route now heads over Ou Kaapse road and into the Constantia Valley Wine Route. We pass several wine estates, with the well known, Groot Constantia, as the start of the climb up to Constantia Nek. A last burst of energy takes us up Suikerbossie again and back along the coast to Camps Bay.
